Since 2015, the band has been writing its own genre-defying story — with forward-thinking musicians and sparkling creativity. Kennedy’s musical roots reach back to a Michigan church, but today she’s one of New York’s defining voices. Her sound carries the elegance of Ella Fitzgerald, the freedom of Prince, and the rhythm of Michael Jackson. She has collaborated with artists such as Dee Dee Bridgewater and Christian McBride — and that depth of experience resonates through Kennedy Administration’s music.

Ondre J, longtime musical partner of Gregory Porter, formed the band with Kennedy after a chance meeting — and the chemistry was instant. “It was like we already knew what to do. It was magic,” he recalls. Kennedy adds, “Our energy together is like a burst of fire!”

The Kennedy Administration quickly became a favorite in Manhattan’s trendiest clubs before embarking on a world tour — igniting dance floors across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Their 2017 debut album was followed in 2023 by “Second Term,” showcasing an even more mature sound and a lineup of remarkable guest artists.
