Since he was a kid, Henry Hill wanted to be a big shot. He looked longingly at the mobster who lived across the street, who always came home in big cars, who was always accompanied by the best women, and who was never harassed by the police for having too loud a party in the middle of the night. One day, Henry makes a big decision: he volunteers to help out the Mafia. A few days later he's selling stolen cigarettes at the factory gate, a few months later he's known by name by the doorman of the best bar, and it's not long before he's being greeted on the street by people who are terrified of him...
