The siblings were used to public performances from kindergarten on, as the parents who founded the Boys & Girls Choirs of Detroit were home-schooled in academics and music. They were raised on classical, gospel and jazz music by the likes of Pat Methany, Marvin Gaye, The Winans Family and many others.
The journey of Infinity Song has been an arduous yet adventurous one. In 2006, John Boyd moved the whole family from Detroit to New York and they began performing publicly around the city. They sang in the morning at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in the afternoon on Fifth Avenue, in the evening in Times Square, and finally the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park became the permanent stage for the next 12 years of their lives. After a few years of building a fan base and turning casual park visitors into loyal fans, the group introduced themselves to Jay-Z.
In 2016, the band was signed to Roc Nation by Jay-Z, who advised them not to align themselves with the label's art culture, but to let Roc Nation's art culture catch up with them. Four years later, in 2020, the brothers made a huge splash with their debut album "Mad Love" and a series of viral videos that garnered millions of views across social media sites, garnering attention and support from some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
Infinity Song is currently enjoying the heyday of their now viral single "Haters Anthem". Over 200 million people have heard the song. Many listeners have even been tempted to compare the band to legendary 70s bands such as Fifth Dimension, Mamas and The Papas and ABBA.
Location
Akvárium
As they describe themselves, it is Budapest's most frequented venue, which is also multifunctional. Akvárium is great for award ceremonies, afternoon coffees and, most importantly, concerts, thanks to the well-picked, cross-genre selection.
