The Opera Inauguration production, which has been successfully running for more than ten years under the name of conductor and composer Dániel Dinyés, is now fulfilling the long-standing wish of the idea's owner by offering the audience a concert of songs, Schubert, who created the Romantic style, for one evening.

Liszt described Schubert as "the most poetic musician who ever lived", and his most famous songs include the cycle of songs from The Fair Maid. The concerto tells the story of a love affair in twenty songs, strung together on a single thought, with operatic drama but monodramatic intimacy. What is this thought? How can twenty movements make up one hour? Why did almost all the later Romantic songwriters want to adapt this work?

In this evening, Dániel Dinyés analyses and answers in a way typical of the Opera Introduction series. His partner in this is Szélpál Szilveszter, one of the most promising artists in Hungarian songwriting, who, after operas, also demonstrates his multifaceted talent in this genre.

Location

House of Music Hungary

A music education centre and concert venue in the heart of the City Park, behind the airy futuristic glass facade of Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto.
