Barański is a creative and courageous figure on the contemporary Polish jazz scene, having recorded dozens of albums alongside such diverse and often extremely unique artists as Bennie Maupin, Dayna Stephens, Dan Tepfer, Tomasz Stanko, Michal Urbaniak and Zbigniew Namysłowski. More recently, he has immersed himself in Indian Carnatic music and has become a dedicated player of the Indian vocal rhythm instrument konnakol. He made his debut as a bandleader with the album Masovian Mantra, which won the Polish equivalent of the Grammy in 2023, the Fryderyk Award for Best Jazz Album of the Year and Jazz Artist of the Year.
