Schedule
When we hear the sounds of both a Guarneri and a Stradivarius emanating from a string quartet, this is often a good indication of the skill of the hands playing them. Of course, Quatuor Agate has many other fine qualities as well. Formed in 2016, they honed their skills with mentors like ‘string quartet guru' Eberhard Feltz and Quatuor Ebène, founded their own festival in Corsica, and regularly play alongside renowned chamber partners in the world's most prestigious venues. On the programme for their Rising Stars concert, in addition to the Haydn quartet whose sense of humour extends beyond the title of the quartet, are a Ligeti work highly influenced by Bartók, as well as a new composition from Ukrainian composer Anna Korsun, who gladly incorporates sounds from all kinds of different source in her pieces.
Nominated for the Rising Stars programme by: Konzerthaus Dortmund, Kölner Philharmonie, Philharmonie de Paris
