Nóvé Soma, iamyank, Vangel Tibor re-imagine The Doors
The Doors, led by frontman Jim Morrison, were one of the most iconic and influential bands of the twentieth century and the roaring sixties. The bohemian singer-songwriter and his band had an almost unearthly influence on his generation and those who came after them.
The trio, called When The Music's Over, set out to do nothing less than rework the Doors' oeuvre for the 21st century. Soma Nóvé, iamyank and Tibor Vangel had already proven their abilities many times separately, but together this show brought them together. The psychedelic sounds of the 60s and the electronic sounds of today meet within the walls of the Hungarian House of Music!

Nóvé Soma is one of the most important artists of the Hungarian popular music underground. His first band, Middlemist Red, was the flagship of the infiltration of modern psychedelic rock into our country, and his music projects and solo performances can be regularly found on the programme of festivals and concert halls. Since 2012 he has released 12 albums with five bands, most recently with MORDÁI. One of the great merits of his career is that he and his mother band were among the first in Hungary to join the post-millennium psychedelic and garage rock revolution, setting the direction for Hungarian popular music for years. In the meantime, Soma has appeared in new formations such as Samurai Drive, which spices up psychedelic rock with a touch of electronica, and The Night Of The Vampire, which brings Nóvé's favourite artists' songs to the stage with a unique sound.
iamyank's genre-bending music takes you on a journey across worlds, from electronic to classical. He started his career with DJ sets and remixes, and in 2013 he released his debut EP Cold Summer, which from the very beginning was characterised by pushing and crossing genre boundaries. This was followed by City of Nobody and the Lost Sounds EP, the latter written for a game that won prestigious international awards. His first full-length album, Hiraeth, was released in 2016, bringing him immediate success and widespread recognition, by then as a solo Live Band. Later, he was invited by the Valley of Arts Festival to perform on the main stage with a classical orchestra, and had previously written a festival anthem for them with Veronika Harcsa. He started the year 2021 with a special recording to bid farewell to the iconic Klavins Piano Manufacture in Vác: Una Notte is a piano piece for night. In July this year, the Live Ensemble album Sarah was recorded and released. At the beginning of 2022, a completely new musical world emerged almost without warning: under the name All Machines Will Fail, this time in a trio formation with Matyi Mohácsi (bass - Trillion, Grand Mexican Warlock) and Máté Kocsis (drums - Ghostchant, ex-Idoru), they recorded the album And We, which was covered with a picture by Attila Bartis, Attila József Attila Prize-winning writer and photographer. His second album, I saw the future die, was released in November 2022. It is devastating, heavy and uplifting.
Tibor Vangel started in Sexepil in the early eighties. The band has released six albums, a remix album and an acoustic EP over the years, touring Europe and the United States with the likes of Björk, Sonic Youth and Faith No More, performing at venues such as SXSW in Texas and CBGB in New York. The latter group debuted at the Hungarian House of Music in December 2022.
