Hidden Landscapes - video installation performance
2024-12-09T19:00:00.000Z
Performance is an interactive play space that combines video installation and object manipulation. The projected video material is a partner, inspiration, set, costume and stage for the performers and the audience. The site-specific and interactive nature of the performance initiates a closer relationship between performers and spectators, a role that can be reversed by crossing the rope that marks the boundaries of the space. The marked space provides security, as it is clear who is part of the space and who is observing. The spectator can also take on the role of choreographer if he or she chooses to cross the boundaries of the space, and his or her presence and actions become part of the work. In other cases, they can simply experience the events as spectators, outside the dynamics that define the space. The performers' toolbox is made up of fixed and improvised performance structures. The performing language is based on contemporary dance. Other tools include singing, noises, body sounds and text creation.

This multi-layered work explores the relationship between nature and civilisational infrastructures. The creation is based on the question: what is the relationship between purely human hands and ideas, forms, social systems and natural formations? The performance uses light, shadow, images, movement and sound to show that we are not only surrounded by nature, but also part of it.
