Csaba Szendrői - #olvasniszabad, guest: Dóra Mencseli and Márton Simon

2025-01-16T18:00:00.000Z

The literacy-free movement was invented in 2020 by Csaba Szendrői, poet, Artisjus award-winning lyricist, singer and frontman of the band Elefánt. Its aim is to promote reading, self-development and the impact of reading on the individual's personality, consciousness and thinking. It does not aim to provide real therapy, but simply to give readers tools to help them get the most out of reading in their own way.

Schedule

Márton Simon, contemporary Hungarian poet, performer and translator will be the next guest of Free to Read. Marci's first poetry collection, Songs from the High Ground, was published in 2010 and immediately became a staple of contemporary poetry. And his second publication, "Polaroids", with its unconventional format and concise poems, brought a new colour to Hungarian lyricism and made the poet popular among a wider audience. Márton Simon's latest volume, "Cold Pizza", was published in September 2024 and is his most personal and varied work to date. It was published by his self-founded publishing house, Okapi Press, which gave him the opportunity to enjoy complete creative freedom. If anyone, Marci really has a close relationship with texts and words, and we will be immersed in his creative world on 16 January at K11.

In the first hour of the reading-free events, we will read together, followed by a performance.

Info on the programme:

- free food and drinks on site

- bring polyfoam, blankets, cushions, etc. for reading and discussion
