An exclusive screening of Atlantis (1991), a film about the ocean world directed by Luc Besson, accompanied by one of the world's most unique musical instruments, with live handpan music. And the venue is the iconic Bem cinema!

A handpan artist for more than 10 years, Manaman's project is a combination of stunning visuals and the ethereal, inner-travel-inspiring magic of the handpan.

Handpan:

The word handpan is a collective noun. It is the name given to the steel, hand-hammered, UFO-like instruments similar to the first handpan, the Hang Drum, created by Swiss inventors.

The first PanArt Hang appeared in 2000, thanks to the husband and wife team of Sabina Scharer and Felix Rohner. To this day, this instrument is considered to be extremely special and popular, as is shown by the fact that more and more handpan makers are constantly appearing all over the world. And the success is unbroken, as the ethereal sound of the instrument appeals to almost everyone, regardless of age, nationality or world view. No wonder that more and more people want not only to listen to it, but also to play it.

The sound can be traced directly back to the steel pan, also known as the steel drum. The Second World War had few positive rewards, but the fact that the US and British armies left thousands of oil drums in Trinidad, some of which were then transformed into rhythm instruments by the skilful forging of local musicians, certainly counts for something.
