Irén Lovász's guided tour of the exhibition Vanitas-readings
Irén Lovász, Kossuth Prize-winning folk singer, cultural anthropologist, associate professor, giving an unusual guided tour of the exhibition Vanitas-olvasatok.

Schedule
The greatest question of life is death. As an anthropologist, we look at religion and art and see that man's confrontation with passing, his desire for immortality and union with God are eternal sources of religious and artistic inspiration. Stage-of-life rites are in fact death rites, death is only a transformation, and religion as psychological life-saving can enchant man with the most varied code-system of artistic expressions. Culture manifests itself in symbolic form, as a web of meanings woven by man himself and transmitted in space and time. Song, image, dance, ritual are all tools that help and heal the expression of the unspeakable. During the mid-week period, I invite the visitor to contemplate together among the works of art in the exhibition, where the chanting evoked by the works can also help to deepen the contemplation.
Kunsthalle Budapest
