heavenphetamine - japán pszichedelikus-elektronikus rockduó

2025-04-13T18:00:00.000Z

heavenphetamine is a duo from Japan composed of Hiroki Oda (keyboard/vocals) and Sara Oda (drums/vocals). Their idiosyncratic style is a blend of elements from krautrock, psychedelia, synthesizer music, postpunk, indie rock, and acid house, with a subtle Japanese flavor. They synchronize acoustic drums with electronic sequences created through synthesizers and loop pedals, without the use of a metronome, which results in electro-influenced compositions that still retain an organic and punky edge.

The couple left their hometown Tokyo in 2021 and have been touring Europe extensively ever since, playing more than a hundred shows in all kinds of venues, from squats to major festivals such as Tallinn Music Week and France's Trans Musical Festival, and performing regularly in the war-torn cities of Ukraine and recording with local musicians. Their first full-length album 'The Sun on a Winter Day' was published on the Ukrainian label Kontrabass in August.
