LILI AND RUT – A Garden Reveals Its Secrets Garden Walk Event

2025-05-17T08:00:00.000Z

One story, two families.

Featuring the Sztehlo–Árkay and Preisich families. The Preisich family—maternal grandparents of Zsófia Váradi—were Jewish. During the siege of Budapest, both families lived in neighboring houses on Városmajor Street. The Árkay house had a large garden. It is in this garden that Zsófia will recount what happened during those years.

She will be joined by her aunt, Katalin Preisich, who was four years old at the time of hiding.
