Weiner Symphonic Band
The Weiner Leó Catholic School of Music and Music Apprenticeship has been the alma mater of many famous artists, many of whom have started their careers within its walls. It is not surprising that its work has been rewarded with the Prima Primissima Award. The school's wind orchestra gives us a glimpse into the life of this wonderful workshop.

The orchestra was founded in 1994 under the leadership of István Sztán, who was the school's brass teacher, director for 10 years and then “Titular Director”, and has become a legendary figure in Hungarian brass education. In the more than 30 years that have passed, the ensemble he founded has won numerous national and international competition and festival awards. Since 2018, the work has been continued under the direction of conductors Balázs Bánfi and Tibor Takács, who continue to promote the brass band in a worthy manner.
In this spirit, they will present their summer launch concert on the open-air stage of the Hungarian House of Music. Their programme evokes the freedom of the holidays, with popular, catchy tunes from the worlds of classical, musical and popular music.
