The History of Music — From 100,000 BC to the Present Day
Family Concert
Music has been part of human life for tens of thousands of years. From the sound of bone flutes to modern film scores, it has been a long journey filled with rhythm, melody, and shared experiences. People have made music around campfires, in temples, ballrooms, and stadiums. Monks sang Gregorian chants, prehistoric communities danced to the beat of drums, minuets echoed through Baroque courts, and in Africa, conga rhythms still pulse today. Though the music of each era and culture sounds different, it all reflects the same inner drive — to experience and express emotions.
This time, the Danubia Orchestra tells the hundred-thousand-year story of music in 45 minutes. Through live music, movement, dance, a collective conga party, and a bit of time travel (complete with wigs), they show how music has evolved through the centuries — and how it sounds today.
