Korhan Futacı feat. Alexander Hawkins (TR/UK)

Known for his bold soundscape and improvisational approach, Turkish saxophonist and composer Korhan Futacı presents his unique musical vision at Opus for the second time, this time with renowned British pianist Alexander Hawkins as guest performer. Futacı has long been a prominent figure on the Turkish alternative and experimental music scene, combining raw energy with rich, multidimensional textures in his compositions. Their joint performance with Alexander Hawkins starts in the chaos of Istanbul and leads to unknown waters: a lively but often dark musical world where traditional Turkish music meets free improvisation. Two fellow musicians join them on this often spontaneous and intuitive journey of discovery, treating the audience to an evening of deep listening and free-flowing dialogue.
