Gentry Sultan, microdosemike

The band is the only living firstborn descendant of the mysterious Pop Ivan legend. The instrumental blood contract was signed in 2012. The formation that has grown over the years, featuring its own compositions, shapes its anarchistic emotions into healing melodies with a primal force called upon regardless of current musical trends, grows its vulgar-folk roots, and attempts to address the universe again and again by merging early psychedelic and free-jazz traditions.

In this ageless music furnace, the fusions of Afro-, Sramli-, 60s dance music and spiritual-punk mantras spice up the mature, dadaist form. The intentionally altering musical genres and trends are regularly filled with multi-directional exciting electronics and the androgynous forms of the vox humana.

Schedule

microdosemike:

Microdosemike released their first album in 2022, and Ekhidna, released towards the end of 2023, is an organic continuation of this. The wind instruments bring mainly oriental and Balkan melodies, and in such a way that they can transform into each other in the blink of an eye. The rhythm section provides the jazz-funk pull throughout, and the guitar adds rock, psychedelic flavors to all of this, as well as more or less African influences.

Location

Három Holló
