Ilosfai Csenge, Gárgyán Zoltán Tamás
Even an entire evening, it would be little to present the life of our genius composer, but that’s not the purpose of this show either. A good portrait is unique and highlights important personality traits that have a message. Intimate letters, classical music, folk music and modern visual art intertwined, illuminate the spirit of Béla Bartók with a kind of 21st century Impressionism. The meeting of the individual performers on stage promises an intimate, captivating evening.

Schedule
Béla Bartók is a genius of Hungarian and universal composition, but at the same time one of the greatest pianists of his time. This little information is known to many about him, yet few could see it under the hard surface of the master’s aloof behavior. Bartók's Correspondence draws his human traits, the infinite depths of his emotions, and the vision of his consciousness far beyond his age. In his art, he served the good with relentless confidence and spoke out against the bad, while his life path led to extreme adversity. Our performance tries to bring the audience closer to Bartók's inner world and thus help to understand the master's messages in his deeper layers. During the production, an actor leads us through a prose branch based mainly on Bartók's correspondence, the themes of which are naturally related to the folk and classical music movements performed. Through interesting stories and wonderful music, we arrive at the violin-clarinet-piano trio composed by the master between 1938 and 1940, „Contrast ”, i.e. Contrast, which sounds like the culmination of the performance. Combined with music and acting, the work of visual artist Dorottya Koltay Szonja accompanies the show, in projected form.
