Terra Profonda, Tó Trips
Tó Trips is a musician, guitarist and composer who has been a defining figure in Portuguese music life for more than three decades. He achieved his greatest international recognition with his duo co-founded with Pedro Gonçalves, the blues, jazz, folk, rocky Dead Combo, with which he has given concerts and released albums worldwide. In his extensive and award-winning oeuvre –, in addition to many other smaller projects and formations, – is an important element in the applied music world, with many songs appearing in films. This particular world of sound has brought him many invitations to compose the music of films and series, thus constantly maintaining a close relationship with the world of cinema and audiovisual arts.

Schedule
This evening, he has been sharing the stage with the Terra Profonda trio, which has been active for thirteenth year. In the folk Hungarian band, which also organizes foreign tours, Krisztián Kiss came from folk music, Mátyás Szabó from jazz and progressive music, and Vincenzo Lo Buglio, a singer born in Palermo, came from darker, heavier genres. Terra Profonda’s compositions are somewhere between roots, folk, chanson, and americana, in which –, among other things, – exhausted loves, big game, and flickering ports come to life on Vincenzo’s shamanic baritone. The trio has been touring Europe for more than ten years with its unusual, excitingly orchestrated songs, which we can witness as Ali Farka Touré meets Tom Waits and as members of the Musician Ensemble toast with Wovenhand to the health of Townes Van Zandt.
