Bea Palya is one of the leading figures on the Hungarian music scene, a renowned songwriter, singer, performer, and writer. Her musical mother tongue is Hungarian folk music, but her art has also been greatly influenced by the music of the Gypsy, Bulgarian, Sephardic, and Indian peoples. Bea mostly sings her own songs, which reveal a deeply personal world. Her eleven solo albums trace the process of how she plays with tradition and modern themes—building something new on the foundation of tradition—and how she forges her own path by weaving herself into her songs. A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
