Anima Sound System

Zsolt Prieger, the head, writer, producer and performer of the Anima Sound System, has now delighted the high-profile with nearly twenty special musical and literary evenings. Her latest piece, compiled from Attila József's oeuvre, was first staged with actress Katica Nagy, the female protagonist of Semmelweis. Now the performance is unfolded in the form of a company, in the company of pianist László Borbély, actor Franciska Törőcsik, classical singer Bernadett Nagy, and the performance pays homage to the great composer's 100th birthday by involving more Kurtág works in electronics, blues and world music. The performance focuses on the inspiring, activist, energetic poet and thinker, radically breaking with the image of Attila József, drawn exclusively as sad-depressive for decades. To increase the impact, Zsolt Prieger's book One Year with Attila József will also be presented on the spot that day: the book holds an elementary JA quote for every day of the year.
