In the latest project by Manaman, a handpan artist with more than 10 years of experience, stunning visuals meet the ethereal, magical sounds of the handpan, inspiring an inner journey.
Handpan:
The word "handpan" is a collective term. It refers to steel, hand-hammered, UFO-like instruments that are similar to the first handpan created by Swiss inventors,
namely the Hang drum.
The first PanArt Hang appeared in 2000, thanks to the married couple Sabina Scharer and Felix Rohner. To this day, this instrument is considered extremely special and popular, as evidenced by the fact that new handpan makers are constantly appearing around the world. Its success is unbroken, as the ethereal sound of the instrument touches almost everyone, regardless of age, nationality, or worldview. It is no wonder that more and more people want not only to listen to it, but also to play it.
The sound can be traced directly back to the steel pan, also known as the steel drum. World War II had few positive outcomes, but the fact that the American and British armies left thousands of oil drums in Trinidad, many of which were then transformed into percussion instruments by local musicians with skillful blacksmithing, is certainly one of them. In spirit, the handpan, in addition to the steel pan, also encompasses the ghatam, udu, gamelan, and gong instruments.
Manaman plays Hungarian MAG Instruments, and is one of their leading ambassadors, so if you have any questions about the instrument or would like to purchase a MAG Instruments handpan, feel free to contact him!

Bem Cinema
In January 2016, the 108-year-old Bem Cinema will reopen its doors to the public, in a new way never seen before in Hungary: as a cinema of cult and classic films (no harm!), or as the educated French say (if you know your English): as a "repertory cinema".
