Any effort to present the finest nuances of the Hungarian language will inevitably turn to its poetry, and while the question of whose poem to select can be open to debate, the list of contenders must invariably include Attila József.

However, much of the oeuvre he left behind surpasses even his works Consciousness and Ode in its richness, variety and genre-expanding qualities. At this programme built around the core motifs of chaos and form, in addition to hearing the poems, the viewer will also gain insight into the poet’s expository prose as well as exposure to a representative selection of critical attempts to interpret his work during his lifetime. This will provide audience members with a closer look not only at József, but also at themselves.
