Hungary will hold the Presidency of the Visegrád Group (V4) from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026. The Hungarian Presidency will focus on strengthening the competitiveness of the region and deepening policy cooperation with Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland.

Hungary is committed to ensuring that the V4 partnership remains stable, dynamic, and fruitful, especially in the development of cultural relations.

In connection with the cultural programmes of the Hungarian Presidency, the National Dance Theatre will organise the V4 Dance Weekend from 20 to 22 February 2026, which will celebrate the cultural diversity of the Visegrád cooperation with a joint performance of the emblematic dance ensembles of the four countries. The three-day event will conclude with the V4 International Ballet Gala on 22 February 2026. The Gala will feature soloists from the Czech National Ballet, the Polish National Ballet, the Ballet of the Slovak National Theatre, and the Hungarian National Ballet, as well as ballet students from the Hungarian Dance University. The repertoire of the evening will include outstanding soloists and duets representing classical ballet.

On 15 February 2019, Budapest's unique new cultural arena opened its doors: the new National Dance Theatre in Millenáris Park. The building, equipped with the latest theatre technology and featuring unique architectural solutions, offers two theatre halls and a chamber hall for dance lovers, as well as rehearsal rooms for professional dancers. The foyer of the building will also become a community space open to visitors to the park, giving Millenáris the opportunity to become even more part of the capital's bloodstream.
