The Dalai Lama – The Wisdom of Happiness features His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, who, at nearly 90 years old, sits face-to-face with the viewer to discuss life’s simple questions—happiness, suffering, peace, and compassion—with a directness and wisdom that is both timeless and urgently relevant.
The film is not a traditional biographical portrait or a collection of teachings, but a kind of moving meditation in which one of humanity’s greatest thinkers looks into the camera—and thus into us as well. Against the backdrop of the state of the world and its global environmental, social, and moral crises, the film shows how we can still live with hope: by seeking the source of happiness within ourselves, and thereby the key to the solution—and to this end, it offers practical guidance and simple coping techniques that can be integrated into daily life for all those who strive for a more balanced, harmonious life.
