A cat is a solitary animal, but when a flood unexpectedly engulfs and destroys a black cat’s home, it is forced to join forces with other animals to survive. The various species travel across the endless sea of water on a boat, and despite their initial disagreements, they must stick together because only by joining forces can they stay alive.

The Flood is the animation sensation of 2024. The animated film had its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard competition section at the Cannes International Film Festival, the world’s most prestigious Category A film festival. The Flood won four awards at the world’s most prestigious animation film festival, Annecy (Jury Prize, Best Music, Audience Award, 2024 Gan Foundation Award for Distribution); it won the European Film Award for Best Animated Film; it won a Golden Globe Award in the animated film category; and it was nominated in three categories for the Annie Awards, considered the Oscars of animation. Additionally, it is Latvia’s Oscar nominee in the International Feature Film category and is a contender for Oscar nominations in the International Feature Film and Best Animated Feature Film categories. The Flood has received dozens of awards worldwide, winning the hearts of audiences and critics everywhere.

Bem Cinema

In January 2016, the 108-year-old Bem Cinema will reopen its doors to the public, in a new way never seen before in Hungary: as a cinema of cult and classic films (no harm!), or as the educated French say (if you know your English): as a "repertory cinema".
