What None of Us Would See Alone (116 min)
Hungarian documentary, 116 min, 2024
András Feldmár has been working as a psychotherapist for 54 years and has been in therapy as a patient for 54 years.
“Every psychotherapist is a patient, but not every patient is a psychotherapist. I’ve been a psychotherapist for 54 years because I’m the craziest one. I need human company, and I’m good at nothing else. I am the patient. I am the super-patient. Only a madman would spend his whole day listening to others.”
According to him, what distinguishes the therapist from the patient is that the therapist spends more time in therapy than his patients. That is all.
“There is no ‘them’ and no ‘us’—we all need not a cure, but mercy. Anyone who does not understand this is likely to cause harm.”
Viewers gain insight into various stages of Feldmár’s remarkable career, such as how his relationship with R.D. Laing, among others, shaped him, and how he became a radical psychotherapist who inspired many.

Bem Cinema
In January 2016, the 108-year-old Bem Cinema will reopen its doors to the public, in a new way never seen before in Hungary: as a cinema of cult and classic films (no harm!), or as the educated French say (if you know your English): as a "repertory cinema".
