The kind of music Gabi Tóth could have become if, instead of adultery, she’d escaped reality through folklore and alcohol. A group photo that was never taken, but the outfit looks fucking great on her. The feeling when, after a wild party, in the morning, the dried-up booze on the corner of your mouth, the dry red wine and strong brandy smell covering your shirt and the poncho you used as a blanket from top to bottom, induces joy instead of nausea. Visszaesők is that party you weren’t invited to, but where you’re still welcome, where, toward the end of the night, you confess to the aesthetically green-haired girl that you play guitar, and she, without hesitation, rips the burgundy suspenders off your linen pants with her teeth. A name that has now shed the musty basement smell and migrated into our hearts. Upon hearing their music, we may first be overcome by patriotism, then by suicidal thoughts, and finally by the inevitable drunkenness. They’re able to forge a closer connection with a discerning audience, but they don’t discriminate—punks are also represented, occasionally even on stage. The band never strives to reach the heights from which the audience looks like ants, to piss on the world from that vantage point, and then fall back into the abyss from which they should never have climbed out, because they were already skirting the boundaries of perfection.
