One of the most defining acts of the Swedish post-rock scene, Oh Hiroshima will perform on the stage of Turbina in October 2026, as part of their And The Dead Tree Gives No Shelter tour presenting their new album.
The band announced their new album at the end of March, which promises to be a darker, heavier record. Along with the announcement came the first preview, “Broken Sunlight,” already hinting at the melancholic yet powerful atmosphere of this new era.
Oh Hiroshima started more than 15 years ago in Kristinehamn, Sweden, initially as a modest DIY studio project. By now, they have become one of the defining acts of the genre. The current lineup consists of the two brothers, Jakob Hemström (guitar, vocals) and Oskar Nilsson (drums).
Their music is characterized by deep emotional charge, slowly unfolding crescendos, and delicately layered melodies, complemented by atmospheric vocal themes. Over the years, their sound has continuously evolved: alongside classic post-rock foundations, more and more shoegaze, indie rock, and post-punk influences have appeared, resulting in a sound that is hard to categorize, yet instantly recognizable.
Joining the evening is Ausklang, a Berlin-based trio who create a perfect balance between ambient and post-rock in their music.
Those who can’t wait until autumn can catch them between July 29 and August 1 at this year’s Fekete Zaj Festival.
