CARSON COMA - 5TH BIRTHDAY CONCERT (360°)
Carson Coma is one of the biggest success stories in the guitar music scene in Hungary in recent years, having released four albums in four years, filled Budapest Park twice and there is hardly a festival in Hungary where they are not requested by the audience. Next year, the band will celebrate their fifth birthday with a rousing concert on 6 April at the MVM Dome, the biggest party the group has ever thrown.

Schedule
Carson Coma emerged in 2018, initially with English-language songs that brought the guitar music of the '60s. Their debut album, released the following year, featured all but two songs in Hungarian, and won them over: on their first birthday they filled the Akvárium Klub KisHall, and in 2020 they filled the Great Hall of the Dürer Kert, releasing hits like Peti and I and I Never Yet. The music industry immediately recognised the band with a Fonogram Award in the category "Discoverer of the Year", and they have won several awards for their creative clips at the Hungarian Clip Show in recent years.
The band, made up of Zsombor Bóna, Giorgio Fekete, Péter Gaál, Barnabás Héra, Attila Jónás and Bálint Kun, also won the MTVA EMA Best Hungarian Artist award in Düsseldorf for their 2022 album Digital/Analogue, played a sold-out concert in Budapest Park and have finally taken their place on the festival main stage. The band's twisted, humorous lyrics not only entertain, but also reflect on current social issues, resonating with the everyday thoughts and problems of not only twenty-somethings, but also older generations. For their social engagement, they have been shortlisted for the RTL People of the Year Award.
This spring Carson Coma released their latest album IV, which, both thematically and musically, conveys the image of a more mature band, leaving adolescence behind and entering young adulthood, with strong songs like Feldobom a kövő (I Throw a Stone) and Nagykabát (Big Coat) bringing their music to an even wider audience. In five years the band has become one of the most successful rock bands in Hungary, and this year they have played all summer long, with more than 20,000 people in Budapest Park and on the main stage of Sziget, so now it's time to invite all their fans to the MVM Dome to celebrate their fifth birthday with a party on 6 April.
"We're coming up with a completely new and exciting concept for us: instead of the classic stage-audience tailgating, we've come up with the idea of setting up the stage in the middle of the auditorium, so that the audience can watch us play our hits of the last 5 years from as close as possible from all directions. What's more, this is the first concert we've ever done where we've paid so much attention to the visual elements - it's sure to be a night to remember!"
MVM Dome
MVM Dome is the seventh largest indoor event venue in Europe. Its capacity for sports events and concerts is significantly higher than that of the Budapest Sports Arena. It has 20,022 seats; a total of 50,000 square metres of floor space; innovative, rearrangeable spaces for many indoor sports (handball, basketball and volleyball, futsal, ice hockey, tennis, skating) as well as certain athletic, equestrian and motorcycle competitions, and even swimming competitions and water polo matches in the mobile pool. Through the six entrances to the building, spectators can enter the arena’s interior using eight escalators, leading to the walk-through grandstands accessible on three levels. The structure of the building’s exterior is reminiscent of muscle fibres: the light strips placed on the outward-leaning, elliptical sections not only embrace the building, but the light shows, programmed using various colours, appear to set the entire building in motion. There is a 600 square metre display on the façade of the building. The Main Entrance leads to an impressive foyer, where visitors will be greeted by a grandiose hanging light installation of 848 handmade glass tubes. The programmable sports lighting is also suitable for HDTV broadcasts of the highest-level world competitions, as well as for super-slow-motion recordings due to flicker free technology. The lighting system also plays an important role in the events and concerts, as it is suitable for changing the colour temperature of the auditorium, which means that the lighting functions can be changed without rearranging the arena, only through the pre-programmed lighting controls. This design is the first and is unique in Europe for luminaires of this power. A central display (cube) provides information in the auditorium during the events.
