Using the vocabulary of modern jazz and electronica, 1| parallel lifeforms 1| is the brainchild of percussionist and producer Balázs Bank, teamed up with saxophone/clarinet player Paula Chelemen and singer/violinist Viola Okos.
The periodic layers generated by digital and analog synthesizers are contrasted by evolving grooves and improvised melodies, displaying the continuous interaction of the constant and the changing. The most important inspirations to their music has been the work of Portico Quartet, Bonobo, Avishai Cohen Trio, Esbjörn Svensson Trio, and American minimalism.
At their concerts, Christianna Strbik Giaume tells her poems (in English), creating a magical atmosphere.
