Estendøn

The Farnad-based band Estendøn (pronounced estendőn in Hungarian; the word is a Transylvanian dialect word meaning towards the evening) was formed in 2015, but they only appeared on stage in spring 2017. The musicians who make up the band come from the Lower Garam region of the Highlands and have played in different formations before - some from folk music circles, some from the world of poetry set to music, and some from the popular music scene. Since their beginnings, they have stuck to their own songs in Hungarian, and to their own blend of different musical styles and motifs, representing the diversity of their region. Their music features elements of rock, funky, jazz, folk and world music, as well as more progressive and modern sounds. The band's credo is that whatever can enrich the collective creation is explored, reinterpreted and incorporated into the songs. They try to make this palpable not only in their sound, but also in their lyrics. The band's dynamic songs are often accompanied by lyrical or even life-affirming lyrics, written by the singer herself.

In February 2019, they released their first EP Jahusszancs, followed by the Mantrafunk EP at the end of 2019. Both albums were released as author's editions, the former on CD and vinyl and the latter on vinyl, in addition to the online release. The band started work on their first full-length album this year.
