The name of the orchestra suggests a lot: the primary aim of the Trio à la Kodály is to present new reflections on Kodály's works, which, from a 21st century perspective, draw attention to the inexhaustibly rich world of Hungarian music, including folk music.

The three musicians also play a great deal of collective improvisation, which is intended to emphasise that the works they use as a starting point and the new compositions the orchestra has composed must first and foremost be interpreted as a live musical fabric. The compositions on Kodály's themes are also a tribute to his work and musical spirit. On this evening, László Szlama, an expert in folk music, joins the trio.
