idyllic Arcadian tranquillity is disturbed by bizarre phenomena, and his paintings are

celestial phenomena, streams of fire, glowing sunsets and occasional strange figures

appear. The beauty of the visions is imbued with the fear of danger, of destruction

of destruction, but also of hope for renewal. Beauty triumphs over ugliness, the

love over hatred.
