BUZZ
Formed in 2019, BUZZ became one of the emerging bands in Hungary’s post-rock scene with their first EP, Valium, released in 2020, and later gained international recognition. The song Inside from the EP was played on Chilean, Canadian, Belgian, and German radio stations. In Hungary, the three-track EP was considered one of the most important releases of the year in underground circles. BUZZ's instrumental compositions made it to the 2021 EFOTT festival after the pandemic, and the Budapest-based band then focused on recording their written songs in the studio, with a strong emphasis on preserving the intense sound of the guitars and highlighting the powerful drums. The percussion was recorded at the well-known Hungarian HangArt studio.
Their full-length album, Blissful Dystopia, containing nine tracks, was released at the end of October 2022 and debuted on the international YouTube channel WherePostRockDwells. One of the songs, featuring elements of post-rock and psychedelic rock, was immediately listed on the distributor’s Best of 2022 list, alongside renowned bands such as Oh Hiroshima, My Sleeping Karma, Russian Circles, Toundra, MONO, and Lost in Kiev.
The album is characterized by a fusion of dreamlike and pulsating themes, crossing the boundaries of conventional musical styles. The atmosphere shifts created by eclectic riffs give the album a dystopian feel. The band draws strong influences from Tool and God Is An Astronaut, but brighter, Red Hot Chili Peppers-like harmonies can also be found throughout the nearly one-hour-long album.
In February of this year, the band was invited to perform live for the “Főpróba” recording event organized by Hajógyár and M2 Petőfi TV, where they performed four songs from Blissful Dystopia at the National Széchényi Library.
In recent years, the band has aimed to enrich Hungary’s increasingly diverse music scene while also focusing on gaining exposure internationally.

Szimpla Garden
One of Budapest's most famous venues is the Szimpla Kert. Although nowadays it is clearly designed for tourists, this doesn't change the fact that there are few places where you can experience the old ruin pub feeling.
