µ-Ziq, MESTERHÁZY, NEMEROV
Mike Paradinas, better known as µ-Ziq (pronounced music) needs no introduction. Along with Aphex Twin and Squarepusher, he is one of the main pioneers of IDM. In 1996, he released the album Expert Knob Twiddlers with Aphex Twin under the name Mike and Rich, has collaborated with a number of artists (including Speedy J, Luke Vibert and Mrs Jynx) on nearly 20 albums since then, and in '98 founded the Planet Mu label, which has brought a whole roster of talent - including Jlin, Venetian Snares, Vladislav Delay and Gábor Lázár - to international attention.
Mike is one of those rare musicians who can innovate artistically (while running a label) over decades, yet remain instantly recognisable for his distinctive, emotive melodic style, as exemplified by his 2024 album Grush. µ-Ziq is a committed protagonist of IDM, an innovator of the genre, and his work is indispensable for any (brain)dancer pushing musical boundaries.

MESTERHÁZY
Mesterházy's record shelves contain almost every musical style, as do the DJ bags he has been carrying to clubs, festivals and illegal parties for three decades. Around the turn of the millennium he became nationally known for his unique mixes of electronica, he was a pioneer of the Hungarian breakcore-jungle scene, the main trail of our sets is the "old school" mix of electro, acid and Detroit techno with a chemist's thoroughness. He's thrown himself into, left behind, reshaped and innovated from countless projects. His Syrup.hu record label and club night is one of them, but he also hides behind the pseudonym Mesterháza with experimental and film soundtrack works, and he is also the improvisational acid-electro synthesizer artist MZ/Y. For the evening, he's preparing a thematic selection summarising the history of the IDM genre.
NEMEROV
Nemerov's focus of interest is layered, collage-like soundscapes and disjointed rhythmic solutions. He builds on synthetic, digital elements, and his music is a collision of creative intent, machine limitation, instrumental error and the ever-present presence of chance.
House of Music Hungary
A music education centre and concert venue in the heart of the City Park, behind the airy futuristic glass facade of Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto.
