At night, in a park, five groups of musicians play in the open air, far apart from each other, their playing inspired by the different positions of the stars - this is the idea of German composer Karlheinz Stockhausen's 1971 work Sternklang. This concept was reimagined by the MIKAMO Central European Chamber Orchestra for the Hungarian premiere in the Hungarian House of Music (Concert Hall, Auditorium, Café, 2nd floor Lobby, 2nd floor Lobby).

The visual constellations of the stars, such as the Big Dipper, Leo, Aquarius and Virgo, define the composition: reading the stars as notes, the composer has used them to write rhythms, timbres and melodies that influence the way the musicians play together and interact with each other. Between the ensembles, "sound runners" and "torchbearers" (dancers) bring and take the sounds. The result is like a journey through a fairytale soundscape, where the boundaries between performer, audience and environment are blurred, transcending the traditional notion of a concert space. Throughout the nearly three-hour, all-sensory experience, stargazing audiences are free to change how they inhabit this multi-dimensional experience, from walking between ensembles to watching from their seats.
