𝟏𝟎:𝟎𝟎 Álmos Molnár, museologist, historian, exhibition director
For a long time, the world - as light was called in the first half of the 19th century - helped life at night in the form of artificial flames. Focusing on these flames, our guided tour will seek to answer the question: how did sleepy cities at the beginning of the century become world cities by the millennium, and who supplied the flames?
𝟏𝟏:𝟎𝟎 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐈 𝐊𝐎𝐍𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀
Evolving lighting devices and their applications have contributed to the emergence of nightlife, one of the basic experiences of modern urban life, and to the transformation of the rhythm of life. Invited expert speakers will enrich the topics covered by the exhibition with 20-minute presentations, offering an opportunity to learn about the use of light in ancient society as an indirect history of the capital, the effects of light that can be recalled through a variety of historical sources, the invention that innovated gas lighting, the design and realisation of lamps with an artistic vocation, and the production and trade of lamps.
