Vive Le Jazz | Emile Parisien Quartet - Let Them Cook (FR)

It's been two decades since the members of Emile Parisien's quartet jammed together and looked at each other in disbelief. Not only had they been struck by a musical lightning bolt, but they knew they had just created something. They were on jazz ground, but each had a different seed, from classical and contemporary music to rock, electronica and chanson. The four-piece have been tearing up labels and playing around with codes ever since, yet they know exactly where they're going - in a passion for storytelling. In the meantime, they've moved away from a purely acoustic sound and expanded their classic jazz quartet sound into electronics, and most recently, with Let Them Cook, they're showing what it means to make music in 2024 with a breath of fresh air.
