The aim of this series of performances by singer-pianist Tamara Mózes is to present three popular female pianists and singers and through them the multifaceted musical expressions that characterise their art. They will be significant divas who are not music industry divas but true divas of music; who have developed a unique style with their vocal-instrumental sound and are truly defining personalities. In this series, we will look at how they have created and represented their own unique soundscapes, and how we can recognise them. In the third part, we take a closer look at Rachelle Ferrell, the flamboyant diva. Rachelle Ferrell (1961-) - the flamboyant diva One of America's most versatile singer-songwriters, with a career spanning musical genres from gospel to R&B to improvisational contemporary jazz. His vocal talents and musical palette are extremely broad and his musicianship endless.

His six-octave vocal range and vocal timbre are so virtuosic that it is understandable why his first album, 'First Instrument', was released in 1990.

About the series. It's fascinating to learn about their activities, to observe their instruments, their multi-dimensional performances, which can be extremely inspiring. The three chosen performers are Shirley Horn (1934-2005) - the serene diva Nina Simone (1933-2003) - the sultry diva Rachelle Ferrell (1961-) - the flamboyant diva Tamara Mózes recommends the series. I accompany the presentation of their songs with live vocal and piano performances, talking about the technical and musical arrangements and the interesting things we can discover in the songs. We will also be able to perform parts of songs together, singing along, so that we can enter even more into the musical world of these divas. Enriched with music, projection and singing, the evenings will enrich everyone with new emotions, knowledge and perspectives!

Tamara Mózes

Tamara Mózes is a singer-pianist-performer, songwriter and teacher. She graduated as a pianist at the Academy of Music in Budapest and continued her studies in Paris and Belgium, specialising in jazz singing and improvisation. In 2011, he was awarded a French State Scholarship and in 2015, the Hungarian State Lakatos Ablakos Dezső Jazz Scholarship. He is a prize-winner of several international competitions and a regular performer at festivals. He is currently a guest teacher at the Académie de Saint Josse in Belgium, where he teaches jazz singers and jazz vocal ensemble. He has released six albums to date, two of which are vocal-piano solo albums and the latest is a duo album with Mozes & Kaltenecker, released by BMC Records. He is the founder, artistic director and teacher of the international singing camp Énektér/Singing Space, held every summer in Budapest.
