János Bródy has been one of the emblematic figures of Hungarian culture since the 1960s, and his art reflects all the significant turns in the history of the last six decades. The revolutionary innovator of song lyrics and the spiritual leader of the now legendary ILLÉS band, he was a compass for many in the labyrinthine society of the time, and personally set an example by representing human rights freely and courageously. After years as a Phonograph, his independent career continues to this day, and in his latest songs he reacts sensitively to the emotions that are running high in his environment.

His six decades on stage have given credence to his poetry in song and his overriding message that we must maintain our human dignity in the midst of our fragile holidays and uncertain daily lives. Bródy, who is still known as Tini by many, delivers all this in his own unique style, condensed into lasting songs, and meeting a living legend in person is always a special experience.
