20 éves a Romengo | Gála koncert vendégzenészekkel

South Korea, Malaysia, South America, India, Mexico, Uzbekistan, the Berlin Philharmonic and the Frankfurt Opera have all enjoyed Romengo's music. All three of their albums have been among the top albums in the world music charts. Their vocation, to show the power of cooperation between gypsy and non-Gypsy compatriots through music, is encapsulated in the title of their first album; Kétháné, which means together in Gypsy.

Most of the members are self-taught and learned to play music in their home environment. They sing songs they heard from their parents' grandparents with a respect for tradition, in keeping with today's urban sound.

The main highlight of Romengo is undoubtedly the voice of Mónika Lakatos, a Kossuth Prize winner and Womex Lifetime Achievement Award winner, who received the Kossuth Prize in 2022 as the first Oláh Gypsy - and the first woman to do so - who also preserves traditions!
