SAY A SONG FOR THOSE FESTIVAL
On 29 March 2025 "SAY A SONG FOR THEM" FESTIVAL at Barba Negra! A tribute to the greats of Hungarian rock music.
One after the other, the great representatives of the Hungarian beat-pop-rock genre, now in its sixth decade, will leave us for good. To quote Attila Horváth's metaphor: "with closed eyes they only changed the world". And the task of those who stayed behind is to remember, to preserve the legend, to cherish and pass on the musical legacy.
Béla Radics was the first Hungarian guitar king in October 1982, Péter Tunyogi, with his exceptional vocal talents, joined the band in November 2008, Fecó Balázs, the founding frontman of Korál, in November 2020, and more recently, in April 2023, Ádám Török, the father of the legendary Mini, joined the band alongside the others. And, if they are no longer with us, their songs will live on in the souls of audiences and in the repertoires of the tribute bands that cherish their memory.

Since the beginning of 2019, the Mini Art space band from Miskolc has been interpreting the emblematic compositions of the Mini ensemble, the object of their homage. "We're not a tribute or cover band in the traditional sense", says flutist and vocalist Béla Tibor Bécó Völgyi, adding that "we convey some of the songs to the audience in our own image, but at the same time we rethink these values in our own songs". Their work was also acknowledged by Ádám Török, who has been a guest at the band's performances on several occasions. The Korál Tribute Band, which was also formed in 2019 and is made up largely of musicians from the Highlands, recalls the greatest successes of the band in its name. Their singer Zoltán Kiss has been a guest of the great Korál several times, as well as of the Balázs Fecó and Friends formation.
Péter Tunyogi, frontman of P. Mobil and Tunyogi Rock Band, left this world in 2008, leaving behind his unique, incomparable organ and the great songs of these two bands. Since 2015, the Tunyó Heritage band has been preserving and carrying on this great spiritual and cultural heritage, with the aim of sounding and performing true to the original. The Hammond organ, the distinctive guitar sound and the female vocalists who colour the sound are essential for this.
The Tűzradék xT, which was founded in 1990 in Esztergom, is a tribute to the work of Béla Radics. In addition to the guitar king's own compositions, their programme also includes rock-blues classics (Jimi Hendrix, Cream, etc.) that were the idols of Kapitány RB.
"Sing a song for those who aren't here" was LGT's rock anthem, which now takes on a new meaning. By evoking the personalities of Béla Radics, Péter Tunyogi, Fecó Balázs and Ádám Török, we will remember four musicians whose work has forever written their names in the history of Hungarian rock-blues on 29 March 2025 on the Barba Negra stage.
