Schedule
Klaus Paier has been exploring the nuances of harmonica and bandoneon playing for decades, sailing between jazz, world music and classical music. His curiosity and thirst for exploring sounds led him to design his own instrument, which he named after the word Passion. Croatian cellist Asja Valcic came to improvisation from a classical music background, while wind player Gerald Preinfalk plays regularly with Klangforum Wien, an inescapable ensemble of contemporary music. All three musicians contribute original compositions to the trio's repertoire, which straddles the divide between jazz, contemporary classical and world music. The compositions they have written leave ample room for finely tuned improvisations and sparkling solos, tantalising the most discerning ears.
