El Khat plays a very original music based on Arabic melodies and the Yemeni musical tradition, using recycled instruments. This music, based on metal and wood percussion, is almost a genre in its own right, rhythm-driven and builds up to a psychedelic transport by the end.

The band, led by Arab-Jewish Eyal El Wahab, combines cheap, mostly recycled but also traditional rhythm instruments with Yemeni melodies, and the resulting intense, hypnotic songs, with organ and unique string instruments, have the power of novelty.
The band will come to the House of Music with their third album, mute, released in autumn 2024.
