Varga István és Fülei Balázs

2025-05-29T17:00:00.000Z

This time, in the Hungaroton album release series, the House of Music and Hungaroton will present the first live performance of the album Sonatas for Viola da Gamba by Balázs Fülei (piano) and István Varga (cello), which will be released on 23 May, the day before the concert. Johann Sebastian Bach's three sonatas for viola da gamba and harpsichord are music of purity, harmony and unity. The varied and ingenious construction of the pieces presents musical challenges of the highest order for both players. The recording and the concert, of course, are performed on two modern "successor instruments", the cello and the piano.
