Geröly Trio, guests Árpád Kiss and Zoltán Kiss

Tamás Geröly was inspired by the sound and creativity of his dream orchestra to realise his latest ideas and reimagine old tunes. In the first part of the evening, the Geröly Trio, active since 2009, will reinterpret the ragtime pieces from his album Time Torn into a Tune with the inspiring contribution of the excellent rezo brothers Árpád Kiss and Zoltán Kiss. In the second part, we witness free music-making from a folk-music context, born in the magic of "breathing silence" and intense sound curtains. At the end of the evening, the ensemble also has a surprise in store, in the form of a musical style that differs from the prevailing concept of the concert.

Tamás Geröly introduced the concert by saying, "The trombone is the instrument of my heart, the instrument of my dreams. From a young age, I discovered its overwhelming atmosphere and unique potential thanks to giants such as J.J. Johnson, Kai Winding, George Lewis, Albert Mangelsdorff and Ray Anderson. During my career, I have played with Johannes Bauer and Michel Massot, but I have also played with the Mingus! Mingus! Mingus! orchestra, Zoltán Kiss once impressed me with his amazing creativity and technique. And so it will be again, I dare say the stronger kind."
