“What we do in the dark defines us, not the postures we assume when the light shines down.”

“Completed Disillusionment” (FREE SEQUENCE) is a soundtrack for an entire era, a chronically late almanac, a form of trauma repetition compulsion, overflowing sounds of injustice, unsolvable existential and emotional dilemmas—those big, intense feelings that we might even feel ashamed of but are impossible not to be affected by. The monotonous and denied disillusionment, however, forces us to act as if they didn’t exist.

Each piece has a visualizer, a complete short film; sound and image together help to make our uncertain, seemingly random, backward-looking experiences feel concrete and clear. The disintegration of a hopeful and naive dreamscape into an almost cheap illusion, and the increasingly tense denial of this suspicion, eventually forces one into a peaceful yet powerless, deep emptiness. In fact, only from here is it possible to move on to the next chapter.

András László Nagy (xyz)

András László Nagy was born in Budapest, Hungary, where he pursued studies in visual arts and classical music, seeking to blend the two disciplines. His breakthrough came in 2012 with a building projection that profoundly influenced his vision. While studying audio engineering, he gained valuable experience in prominent Hungarian clubs and venues, collaborating with like-minded artists who inspired his career. Nagy found a supportive community within the Hungarian light art scene, which became a significant part of his professional life. After contributing to small-scale projects for several years, he experienced a major turning point in 2016, allowing him to focus on his own artistic interests. He created numerous audio-visual installations and performances.
