Cherry blossom in Buda
SPRING WALK IN THE BUDA ARBORETUM
What does the mysterious term "hanami" mean? And the "sakura holiday"?
The Japanese cherry is a national symbol of Japan and part of the Japanese identity, and its flowering is the biggest event of the year. Among the sea of petals wafting in the wind, we can forget our daily lives and marvel at the extraordinary diversity of species and varieties.

Schedule
Amid the bright green April foliage, lily trees, variegated tulips, daffodils and thousands of spring flowers, we discover the secrets and history of the arboretum. Strolling through rock gardens, evergreens and special plants, we will visit the oldest trees in the arboretum, which are 120 years old. They have a story of their own.
The wooded and grove-lined walkways are flanked by buildings with a long history, as the Buda Arboretum has always been the teaching area of a very important horticultural school and later university. The buildings themselves are of value, and even hide treasures. The walk takes you through the doors to discover spectacular relics from the second half of the last century.
IMPORTANT!
Entrance to the Buda Arboretum is free of charge, the fee is for the guided tour.
The walk is NOT organised by the University, please contact us with any questions:
