Ági Szalóki - János Ávéd - István Tóth: I've got rid of...
2025-05-16T18:00:00.000Z
Three excellent Hungarian musicians, Ági Szalóki, János Ávéd and István Tóth, perform contemporary arrangements of sacred songs and church folk songs, including works by Lantos Sebestyén Tinódi, Bálint Balassi and anonymous composers from the 17th and 18th centuries, as well as medieval hymns. The orchestration and the individual voices of the musicians add a new dimension to the performance of the pieces, while the accompanying jazz improvisations combine the best of tradition, freedom and the spirit of contemporary music making. The programme made its debut in the Valley of Arts, in the Reformed Church of Taliandörögd last summer, and since then we have been able to discover this unique repertoire in more and more venues.
